For us it was ideal.

Incredibly nice stuff and simple location, this hotel is charming small. They offer huge, fantastic rooms with the garden and a tasty buffet breakfast, as for instance. The property provides a satisfactory breakfast with a sandwich and a juice, for instance. When I am in Saudarkrokur, I like staying here...

The nearby hiking spots, Mælifellshnjúkur and Tindastóll, provided us with breathtaking views and unforgettable adventures. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the area and enjoying outdoor activities like golfing and hiking. Our youngest child, who is just a little tot, stayed in a cozy crib provided by the hotel, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The range of activities offered in the area kept our family entertained throughout our stay, ensuring there was never a dull moment.
My wife says that the family room could have had a small play area or better kid-friendly amenities.

Too bad that we didn't have time, but we will definitely go again next time. Loved our rooms with vintage couch.
Nothing to fault.

Very good experience there. Good old and quaint hotel located just next door to a beautiful bay with terrific views, and Akureyri in sleep deprived misery. The genuinely helpful staff all round. Nice pool, parking on-site. Not to mention free wifi!
Very small bathroom, very tiny room.

The hotel of choice in Saudarkrokur. Original budget venue with really helpful and genuinely helpful staff. New-fashioned room with a contemporary decor and a particularly good bathroom. A lot of TASTY options for meal. Easy setting in the local area, just off Iceland, the grounds, and restaurants for dinner-short walking distance. 10 minutes walk to Golfklubbur Saudarkroks.
Wi-Fi was very poor.

The hotel's decoration was charming and cozy, with beautiful traditional Icelandic touches. The general areas were well-maintained and clean, making it easy for senior people like myself to navigate around. I especially appreciated the comfortable seating areas where I could relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
I would have liked to have more assistance from the staff, especially considering the needs of senior guests. A little more attention and care from the children working there would have made my vacation even more enjoyable.

This hotel in a small town offers great value for money, just like the reviews mentioned. The rooms have a cozy feel with vintage couches, and the beds are really comfortable. The attention to detail, such as robes provided and a hot tub in the garden, adds to the overall experience. The breakfast served in the atmospheric breakfast room sounds delicious.
No specific issue mentioned, all was fine.

This hotel has a lot of old charm, which adds to the unique experience of staying here. The rooms in the original building may be smallish, but they have been updated nicely within the constraints of the old architecture. The vintage couch in the room adds a nice touch of character.
All was well and there's nothing major that needs improvement.

It was a great experience spending New Year's Eve in this hotel. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and the hot pot in the court yard was a real winner. We also enjoy good food and were delighted with the varied options at the local restaurants just a short walk away. The location was perfect, offering easy access to key sites and attractions.
We did not appreciate the sulfur smell from the water while showering and the noise from the street outside of our room was a bit of a distraction. the annex building didn't live up to expectation.

We definitely got great value for our money at this hotel. The room was not only super cute with original decor, but also had a remarkably comfortable bed. The location was great, allowing us to easily explore the local area. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and gave us fantastic recommendations.
The only thing that could've made the breakfast better was having more variety in the options.

We had a wonderful weekend at this historic hotel. The atmosphere was charming and unique, offering a cozy and authentic experience. We loved the fact that the building was over 100 years old and had been beautifully restored. The hot tub was a great extra touch, giving us a chance to relax and enjoy the stunning views. the breakfast was fantastic, providing a good start to the day with fresh ingredients.
The room was quite small and had low ceilings, which might not be suitable for everyone, but it was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the location was a bit out of the way, which meant that we had to walk a longer distance to get to restaurants and the main attractions in the area.
